Chef Maurizio comes from a family of good home cooks, learning from an early age the importance of food and family, watching his Mother prepare almost all family meals. Born in Salerno, Italy, appreciation of good food is a genetic trait!
During his college years, he became the favorite invitee for weekends away and parties for his friends, because he was always ready to take on the cooking responsibilities for the event.
With their encouragement, Maurizio attended the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago, where he graduated with honors in 1999. He also attended a study abroad program in Chioggia, Italy, gaining valuable insights into Italian cuisine while studying at a five star resort with top Italian Chefs.
